HealthCare Simulation of South Carolina (HCSSC) scenarios support measured outcomes. HCSSC routinely includes automatic scoring of the educational objectives in its advanced scenario programming approach. A range of strategies including: (a) Percent task completion, (b) Timing and sequence, and (c) Critical actions may be incorporated depending upon the specific scenario objectives.
Important actions that are not performed during the simulation session are automatically logged for grading and debriefing. Automatic overall grades are often included in testing and practice scenario debriefing logs. These grading features can be used to support learning through formative feedback or summative testing for overall documentation of learning. This approach facilitates reporting specific educational outcomes to create value for stakeholders.
